Digging through the vinyl for The Jam

The Jam were a bit of an enigma.  They were huge in the U.K., but couldn’t get the time of day in the U.S.  Its something I could never explain, but for those few of us who listened to them in their day (and today) we absolutely loved them.  One of their best albums… if not the very best… was their third release All Mod Cons. From first song to last song, it was an absolute gem.  The version pictured here is the U.K. version.

I remember there being a difference between the initial U.K. and U.S. releases, but can not recall what it was (Wikipedia reports that that the U.S. version swapped The Butterfly Collector for Billy Hunt).  If this album is not in your collection, it should be.

  1. I’m also a really fan of the Jam. How can we resist to “A town called malice” and a lot of others songs.
