Jonathan Richman

I had my first Jonathan Richman encounter Friday night at Local 506.  Pretty f@#$ing amazing and highly recommended if you’ve never seen him.  He played for about an hour an half… pretty much non stop.  I’m not that familiar with his musical catalog, but I did recognize a few classics such as Pablo Picasso and Her Mystery Not of High Heels and Eye Shadow.

Tommy Larkins on drums was equally as impressive.  He was just so damn smooth. Just the right touches… never too much… never too subtle.

The place was packed.  The largest crowd I’ve experienced since Clap Your Hands first came to town.

More crappy telephone shots are available here.
