Black Kids
The pretty good, the bland and the great. Thursday night. Cat’s Cradle. Good sized crowd, that was probably just sort of a sell out.
The Magic Wands opened. Two person group (really three if you count the MacBook playing the rhythm tracks). Pretty good with a shoe gaze sort of sound.
The Virgins followed. Bland. Enough said.
Black Kids were great. They are what I would call a “like, but not love” band, but they are much better live… and that’s how I would recommend listening to them. They played about 10 songs, with a two song encore. I’ve read rumor that there may not be a follow up CD, but I hope that’s not the case. I’d definitely go see them again.
