B & N

I finally broke down and paid a visit to the new (relatively) Barnes & Noble that has come to our fair city.  After reading way too many mystery novels of late I needed a change of genres.   Nice store, but off all the BNs I’ve been in it appeared to have more room than it does merchandise.  I wouldn’t say its lacking merchandise, it more that there is just so much room between all the displays.  This is probably due to the store being newer than any other BN stores I’ve visited in my day.

I did a store tour (for the most part), avoiding the over priced, slim selection CD/DVD department.  I’ll give it a thumbs-up, but I have a weakness for book stores.  I came away with five novels… the latest Arthur C. Clarke/Stephen Baxtor Firstborn, Joseph Weisberg’s An Ordinary Spy, Polaris by Jack McDevitt, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby and The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.  These should last me for weeks as I intersperse them with all the unread mysteries I have stowed away in boxes.
