Digging through the vinyl for the Undertones

One the of the loses of digital music downloads is the album cover. It took a hit with CDs, when the potential canvas went from over 12″ down to about 5″. Not that an artist can’t do something in a 5″ square, but a canvas of 12″ square offers more potential. There has been a brief resurgence of cover art with the inclusion of Cover Flow in iTunes, but its not quite the same.

Anyway, one of the classic album covers for me was The Undertones’ All Wrapped Up, which was a collection of their singles along with b-sides (depending on your version). I mean its not every day that you see a woman wrapped in meat. Its a great collection and a great cover.
