Digging through the vinyl for R.E.M.

Here’s the very first R.E.M. single Radio Free Europe (flipside is Sitting Still), released on Hib-Tone Records in 1981.  This version of Radio Free Europe is not the version most people know (which is one from the album Murmur).  It has a slightly faster pace and didn’t see the light of day again until the Eponymous album.  This one is MUCH preferred.

  1. Accidentally found your blog but glad I did, it is way cool.
R.E.M is one of my top 3 groups, I’ve collected a number of their things over the years including their fan club Christmas give aways.
Also the owner of 600 Vinyls pre-1980 and a few post, 200 8 tracks, around 200 cassettes and over 600 cd’s from the mid 60’s to current.
I love my music. :) Glad I found you!
