The New Math

First there was 3 x 3 = 0 – 9. Now its 3 x 4 = 0 – 12 as in 3 teams, 4 weekends, 12 losses. The triangle of futility continues.

NCSU lost to Clemson, although from what I read they had a couple of bright spots… penalties were kept to a minimum. Tony Baker finally had a breakout game. Fans will need to cling to those bright spots because we are guaranteed a losing season.

Duke lost to BC. Duke continues to play well against the tougher teams, but they just can’t get over the hump.
UNC lost to Ga. Tech. UNC should be ecstatic that it was only 7-0.

NCSU has two games left. UNC away and ECU at home. If I had to bet, it will be two losses. If UNC loses to NCSU then they will beat Duke. If they win, they will lose to Duke. NCSU will lose to ECU. ECU is the second best team in the state at the moment (with Wake in a class of it’s own).

The only thing I can say for sure is that the triangle of futility will end this coming weekend for either NCSU or UNC… and only because the game can’t end in a tie.
